In the past week my sister and I have viewed Bladerunner and Silence of the Lambs. We are slowly getting through the top 100 movies.
Bladerunner was awful. I couldn’t follow it at all and just did not enjoy it one bit. My sister, who never says anything bad about anyone or anything, said the music was ok. If that doesn’t tell you what we thought of it, I don’t know what to say.
I had seen Silence of the Lambs years back on my mother’s busted TV set. Any dark scenes were near impossible to see. There are many dark scenes in Silence of the Lambs. It was incredibly frightening and disturbing, but we watched it in one night.
All is going well on the Top 100 film project.
I have a huge dilema. I love to read. I would say I read at least one book a week, usually two. It’s my one go to hobby.
But I love to make things too. I have a long list of things I need to make…curtains, Christmas gifts, cards, I could go on and on.
So, when can I find time to do all of the above? I know that it is probably not a possibility. But I don’t want to accept that. I want to read and be crafty (and be able to raise my son and take care of the house) all in the short hours I am awake for (well…now I’m awake a good two hours more each night because of our wonderfully loud neighbors…can I just say their son who is 2 or 3 is up until MIDNIGHT EACH NIGHT..moving on…).
I blame it on the library. I request books and have to read them in a certain amount of time. I have no choice but to read. But the ‘blood spattered’ curtains (that is only what we call them, not what is actually on them) need to go. Maybe this weekend I will start my great crafty beginning…
So, the previous ‘white trash’ neighbor was kicked out a month ago and since then, with the exception of work being done by the landlord, we have had a vacant apartment downstairs.
How quickly you get used to quiet.
Fast forward to now and I could not have imagined the current situation. A family of 3 with a son maybe 2 or 3. They moved their belongings in over a week, week and a half (all after normal ‘business’ hours, so the moving would be done from like 7-10, OY). Once all the things were in, they came this past weekend. Since then, they have been up every evening, moving things around, hammering, until WAY past my bedtime (yes, I know, 10 is a bit early). The worst part, their son is also up that late with them.
Last night was the worst of it. The noise was happening until 1 in the morning. Seriously people, what the heck is wrong with you. You KNOW we have a baby, A went down last night at 10 to ask them to turn their music down as our floors were vibrating, and isn’t it just COMMON COURTESY to not hammer nails into the wall at 12:30 in the evening.
I have no idea where all these horrible, horrible, neighbors come from.
